The Fantasia International Film Festival Is Almost Here!

2020 has been a bad year for movies. I think that's just about the understatement of the century, right? But it's especially been a bad year for smaller, genre fare, which relies on the annual circuit of film festivals to build hype and get the word out. Since March most if not all festivals have been canceled, and that finds my beloved indie genre movies with literally nowhere to go to present their movies.

Fortunately, Fantasia is here to solve that problem. Hailed as the largest genre film festival in North America, Montreal's Fantasia International Film Festival has transitioned to a fully digital festival for its 2020 run and is set to begin this week on August 20th. The digital festival will run until September 2nd and is, unfortunately, region-locked, so only Canadian residents can partake. But don't you worry, because that's where we come in.
