Exciting news everyone! Our friends over at Media M.D., Elliot and Rueben have officially joined the Doof! Network with their show “Deep In Pact” analyzing Wildbow’s Pact, chapter by chapter.
When Matt and I first started this website, we had a lot of lofty goals. First and foremost was to make some good shows that people would like to listen to. That part took a while, but think we eventually got there. After that, we wanted to start building a community of individuals that feel the same way we do. People that have a love for story and like exploring how it works, why it works, and why that one particular movie or chapter keeps making me cry. It’s taken a little time as well, but I’m incredibly proud of the community we’ve built over the last couple of years. Whether you listen to one or all of our shows, we’re so thrilled that you guys have invited us into your lives and have entered ours.
As part of this growing community, we always envisioned Doof! Media as a network of podcasts. A place not just to come to hear Matt and I talk, but where you can listen to or watch a wide variety of content from a wide variety of people. A place where we can tale our relative success and use it to help out smaller shows still working to find an audience. When the calendar flipped to 2019, both Matt and I felt that now was the time to start working towards making that dream a reality. We started
One of the first places we looked was our friends over at Media M.D. Elliot and Reuben first jumped on our radar when they recorded a podcast that said nice things about us (I’m really easy to please), but since then we’d been happily enjoying their bi-weekly entertainment podcast. They, like me, absolutely adore Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which means you know they’re smart, good people. Recently, the two launched “Deep In Pact” a chapter by chapter deep dive into Wildbow’s shortest (but still really freaking long) web serial. We were thrilled to see them tackle this challenge (and thrilled that it meant people might stop asking us when we’re covering it). Elliot and Reuben explore the series with the same kind of love and admiration for the craft of storytelling that we can’t get enough of here at Doof! Media. It just seemed like too perfect a fit. If we were going to start this Doof! Network expansion, we had to start it with these guys.
So we did!
From now on, “Deep In Pact”, Elliot, and Reuben will be members of our new Doof! Network: a collection of people and shows we’ve partnered with and pledged to support. The show will appear on the website (backend work is still being done on this front, please be patient), be featured on our Discord and be treated in all ways like another Doof! Media show. So, from now on, when you support us, you’re also supporting this excellent show and it’s creators.
